Black squad hackers1/3/2024 ![]() Pick up a copy of my sci-fi novel, The Last Exodus, and its sequel, The Exiled Earthborn, along with my Forbes book, Fanboy Wars. More to come as Kivimaki’s saga continues to develop.įollow me on Twitter, on Facebook, and on Tumblr. I’m not so sure this will be the end of Kivimaki’s reckoning, but it is unfortunate that being convicted on 50,700 computer-related charges can somehow end up netting you zero jail time, as "cyber crimes" are likely to get even more severe in time as we move deeper into the digital age. Kivimaki, unfortunately, is likely a hero to many in the community at this point, though as part of his sentence his internet activity will be "monitored" so perhaps he'll be unable to cause havoc for a good long while. Still, for now, it seems that Kivimaki is getting off with a relative slap on the wrist, which could embolden other hackers to continue making mischief as the worst case scenario doesn’t look all that bad. But as always, the FBI isn’t talking about their future plans, as you might expect. Players can master their skills and show off their strategies with a wide range of game maps, modes, and weapons to choose from. The bomb threat, on the other hand, is a much more serious issue, and I have to imagine the FBI will still pursue Kivimiki for grounding Smedley’s American Airlines flight, provided they can prove it. Black Squad is a free-to-play military first-person-shooter. Being a minor in the Finnish justice system (a tad less severe than say, America's) means additional leniency. Outside of literal treason, shutting down online gaming services probably doesn’t rate very highly on the computer crimes scale of seriousness, despite the millions it likely cost Sony and Microsoft. He’s harmed American targets and the FBI should have stepped in by now,” Strater said. “I’ve lost complete faith in the justice system, and that includes the FBI. Another victim, Brian Strater, who was SWAT-ed by Kivimaki also expressed disgust at the seemingly lenient sentence and relayed to The Daily Dot that he was angry the US and the FBI hadn’t been more directly involved, given that they helped find him initially, and many of his victims were American. ![]()
